The Where Next Index presents the scores assigned by Where Next to each country. It highlights one global score, nine category scores and the rankings in the active edition, without adapting the results to the reader's profile.

How are Where Next scores calculated?

Each score is calculated out of 100 using the same method for every country. The global score combines tax, cost of living, safety, business environment, health, political stability, climate, digital and human development using fixed weights.

Where does Where Next get its data?

Where Next uses public, institutional and specialist data, then verifies and transforms it using its own scoring rules. The Sources page explains where the data comes from. Scores and rankings remain results published by Where Next.

When are scores and countries updated?

A dated edition remains public so its results can be checked over time. Newly validated countries may be added in a monthly edition. Scores receive an annual review, and an important correction may be published between two editions.

What can I access for free?

The Index, the pages explaining the scores and a large part of the country profiles are available for free. Premium unlocks advanced content and tools on the platform.

How can I manage my subscription and data?

Accepted Answer

You can change or cancel your subscription from your account settings. Invoices are available through the Stripe customer portal. Personal data is hosted in Europe and never resold.
